Healthy Recipes for Weight Loss

At the very onset, let me put your mind at easy by stating that the healthy recipes for weight loss that I have are way different from what you will find elsewhere on the internet. I have no intentions of making you eat un-tasty, ugh looking food that passes as healthy foods. I hope no doubt they might be healthy but if the food does not taste and look good, the chances of anyone loving it enough to continue eating it is zero.  So here are two of my healthy recipes for weight loss.

Super Healthy Burger Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 3 tbsp red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cup cooked white beans
  • 4 oz rigatoni
  • 1/2 cup quinoa – red
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 7 oz vegetable broth (very little salt)
  • 1 pod garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 cup broccoli, steamed
  • 1/4 cup cabbage, shredded
  • 2 sun dried tomatoes
  • 6 kalamata olives, sliced

Recipe: Cook rigatoni with some until it becomes soft. Use 11/2 cup of it. Mix quinoa and broth and boil together then reduce heat and cook a while longer until some of the white germ open. Drain, this and set aside.

Sauté the onions over medium heat, add garlic, toss for a minute, set aside.

Make the batter by blending rigatoni and white beans until smooth, adding 3/4 cup quinoa, cabbage, broccoli, tomato sauce, bell pepper, sun-dried tomatoes, olives and onion-garlic mixture. Mash this together. When done, make 6 round patties brushing the top of each with oil. Meanwhile pre-heat your grill.

Brush the grill with oil and place each patty oiled-side down. Cook for 5 minutes or so and turn over. Brush some oil on the other side. Cook another 3 to 4 minutes.

Serve with your favorite burger toppings.

Lovely and totally healthy fruit salad recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. sugar (real sugar please)
  • 2 tbsp. mint, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. lime juice
  • 4 oranges, peeled, each segment cut in half
  • 1 cup pineapple, cubed
  • 2 kiwifruits, peeled, halved, and sliced
  • 1/4 cup dried cherries

Recipe: Combine the lime juice and sugar, microwave on high for 60 seconds, cool it and add the mint. Combine all the fruit in a large bowl, add the lime syrup, toss a bit, cover, and chill overnight. Garnish with mint.

I guarantee you both these healthy recipes for weight loss not only look good, they also taste good.

I have many more such healthy recipes for weight loss and I shall be publishing these regularly so stay tuned and stay healthy. Meanwhile, avoid or severely limit pre-processed and packaged foods. These contain loads of chemicals in the form of preservatives, stabilizers and taste enhancers which tend to over-burden the liver and do nothing to help your weight loss effort. Remember, the best healthy recipes for weight loss are those that are cooked in your own kitchen using fresh produce.
